MEET THE ARTIST

Hello, my name is Hannah Baney. I’m a 21-year-old artist currently pursuing a BA in Community Arts and Studio Art, driven by a passion to explore the deeper meaning behind every form I create. My work is rooted in a blend of technical precision and emotional storytelling, aiming to bring art to life in ways that challenge perception and spark connection.

From intimate sculptures to large-scale mixed media pieces, I strive to craft work that not only captivates visually but also invites viewers to reflect and engage on a deeper level. With plans to pursue an MFA and become an art professor or freelance artist, my journey is one of continual growth, experimentation, and creative exploration.

Art, for me, is more than creation — it’s a way to build meaningful connections, tell compelling stories, and transform ideas into tangible experiences. I invite you to explore my work and join me on this creative journey.

MY STORY

Since beginning my artistic journey, I’ve been driven by a desire to explore not only how things look but what they mean — to dig beneath the surface and reveal the essence of my subjects. This exploration has shaped my work across various mediums, including sculpture, mixed media, large-scale installations, and murals.

A pivotal moment in my development was being selected for the Disney Young Artist Camp in Florida. This opportunity immersed me in a creative environment that challenged and inspired me, affirming my commitment to a life dedicated to art. In recent years, I have focused heavily on mural work, bringing vibrant, large-scale art to public and commercial spaces. Some of my notable projects include murals for True West Coffee and CVG Airport. I enjoy creating works that allow me to engage with the community in a dynamic and lasting way.

Beyond creating art, I’ve embraced entrepreneurship. My time working at a screen printing business sparked a passion for hands-on production and custom design. This led me to establish my own registered LLC, where I combine artistic vision with practical skills like screen printing and sublimation. Partnering with organizations like The Learning Center in Liberty Township and Ridgeway Elementary School for charitable projects such as the Make-A-Wish fundraiser has been deeply rewarding.

My artistic process is fueled by a balance of discipline and openness — I approach each piece with technical care while remaining flexible to evolution and surprise. Failures and unexpected outcomes have become essential teachers, helping me refine my voice and expand my capabilities. Large-scale work holds a special place in my practice. The physicality of creating sculptures so large challenges me to think spatially and conceptually, pushing my creative boundaries. Each project is an opportunity to engage viewers in new ways, inviting them to experience art as a powerful, immersive force.Looking ahead, I’m excited to pursue an MFA and to become a professor and/or practicing artist.

Art, for me, is a dialogue — between artist and audience, form and meaning, intention and interpretation. It’s a way to connect, question, and transform. I’m grateful for every step of this journey and eager to continue exploring the endless possibilities of creative expression.
